A nose reduction (rhinoplasty) is a common request from patients, especially when they have a big hump or other asymmetry that seems to detract from their smile. Although self-esteem and confidence is not determined by the shape of your nose, many patients want to address this concern and Dallas Surgical Arts is here to help! There are a variety of approaches to rhinoplasty when the goal is to minimize the size of the nose, and can include a number of techniques like removing a hump, rotating your nasal tip, or even reshaping your nostrils to give the desired look!
Button Nose Surgery
A button nose is a common request, as many patients love the way a delicate, smaller nose can contour their face. This procedure usually involves a combination of a soft sloping nasal bridge and a petite nasal tip that turns up slightly. When you come for your consultation at our Dallas cosmetic practice, we take imaging to simulate your surgical results so you can see how you might look after surgery! Board-certified Dr. Randy Sanovich can discuss your options with you and give you insights on what style of rhinoplasty may best fit your face and your aesthetic goals.
Hump Reduction
A protruding hump or bump on the bridge of the nose can sometimes give an unwanted side profile for patients, and can also be distracting if it is disproportionately larger than other features on the face. Dr. Sanovich can easily shave down this hump and restore a balanced profile to a patient’s face!
Septum Deviation
If you’re having difficulty breathing, chances are, you may have a deviated septum! This frequent and persistent issue can arise from injury or from genetics. Dr. Sanovich can remove the excess cartilage and reshape the septum to improve your breathing and straighten out any asymmetry.
Tip Rotation
If you feel like the tip of your nose is pulled downward, this can be fixed through a tip rotation. Often, this is performed in conjunction with a complete rhinoplasty surgery.
Nostril Reduction (Weir Technique / Alarplasty / Alar Base Reduction)
If your nostrils feel abnormally large, asymmetrical, or too wide, Dr. Sanovich is able to reposition and reduce the size of your nostrils through a procedure called Weir excisions or alarplasty or alar base reduction. This is a specific type of nose surgery that addresses the nostrils to narrow the appearance of the nose and to balance out the facial shape.
