We see lots of celebrities promoting the skin pinch and praising the short recovery time and the minimally invasive aspects of the procedure. But what makes the difference between a skin pinch and blepharoplasty, and why would a patient want to have a full eyelid surgery versus just a skin pinch?
Well, the skin pinch procedure helps with improving crepey, fine lines, wrinkles, and texture underneath the eyes. When a board-certified surgeon like Dr. Sanovich removes this small bit of loose skin under the eye, that can really help eliminate any wrinkling or bunching up of the under-eye that could be caused by genetics, loose skin, skin laxity, loss of collagen, and other reasons.
Blepharoplasty Surgery
Now, if a patient is struggling with unwanted fat pads, their eyelids are very hooded, or they're feeling like they have a lot of skin to address, Dr. Sanovich will likely recommend a blepharoplasty procedure, as a full blepharoplasty is more effective at delivering the desired results when there is a lot of skin and tissue and fat to address. This involves removing skin from the upper and/or lower lid, or removing or repositioning fat pads.
