Blepharoplasty or Skin Pinch, What's the Difference?

Blepharoplasty or Skin Pinch, What's the Difference?

Many patients want their eyes to look more open and to have a brighter expression, as sometimes the eyes can look tired (despite having lots of rest). This can happen to any patient, at any age and Dr. Randy Sanovich is here to help refresh your under eyes by lifting the lids and removing any excess fat through blepharoplasty. But you may be wondering, is a blepharoplasty the same thing as a skin pinch?

Skin Pinch Procedure

We see lots of celebrities promoting the skin pinch and praising the short recovery time and the minimally invasive aspects of the procedure. But what makes the difference between a skin pinch and blepharoplasty, and why would a patient want to have a full eyelid surgery versus just a skin pinch?

Well, the skin pinch procedure helps with improving crepey, fine lines, wrinkles, and texture underneath the eyes. When a board-certified surgeon like Dr. Sanovich removes this small bit of loose skin under the eye, that can really help eliminate any wrinkling or bunching up of the under-eye that could be caused by genetics, loose skin, skin laxity, loss of collagen, and other reasons.

Blepharoplasty Surgery

Now, if a patient is struggling with unwanted fat pads, their eyelids are very hooded, or they're feeling like they have a lot of skin to address, Dr. Sanovich will likely recommend a blepharoplasty procedure, as a full blepharoplasty is more effective at delivering the desired results when there is a lot of skin and tissue and fat to address.
