Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)
An endoscopic brow lift is the best procedure available for eliminating the tired, serious, intense, angry appearance that comes from having low eyebrows.

Excessive exposure to the sun, along with normal aging, and other factors including heredity, cause loss of skin elasticity which produces unattractive furrows in the forehead, crow’s feet, frown lines and drooping of the eyebrows. Many young individuals have excessively low eyebrows due to hereditary influences. Low eyebrows may make you appear tense, old, angry and tired. You may look unfriendly, excessively serious, and unapproachable. A browlift can correct these problems and restore a more youthful, happy and alert appearance.
The Brow Lift Procedure
Dr. Sanovich performs the brow lift through an endoscopic technique in his office surgical suite. This approach employs an endoscope, which is a telescope about the size of a soda straw with a video camera at one end. Dr. Sanovich can insert the endoscope through small incisions in the hair above the forehead and mobilize and tighten the tissue to elevate the eyebrows, smooth the forehead and reduce the crow’s feet. The endoscopic technique dramatically reduces the length of the incision and improves the stability of the final result when compared to older techniques. The small incisions heal rapidly and are well hidden in the hair.
The brow tissue is loosened and lifted to the desired position and stabilized there so that it heals in the new elevated position. No bandage is needed. The entire brow is tightened, which reduces the unattractive forehead lines. The brow will move normally after healing so you will have normal expressions.
Since the brow is usually only lifted a quarter to three eights of an inch, there is minimal change in the hair line and no loss of hair. Even men with receded hair lines, or total hair loss, will have almost no visible scarring.
The endoscopic brow lift is frequently performed in combination with other procedures. Because long term sun damage and aging changes effect the entire face, it may be desirable to perform additional procedures to simultaneously improve all damaged areas. A facelift, midface lift, eyelid surgery and laser rejuvenation are frequently performed in conjunction with the browlift.
Dr. Sanovich pioneered a technique that combines an endoscopic brow lift with his special EasyLift face lift. This technique provides all of the benefits of the browlift in addition to elevating the cheeks and corners of the mouth, and reducing the cheek fold at the corner of the nose. This combination of procedures is ideal for those who need a conservative face lift and have a tired, serious or sad appearance.
Brow Lift Surgery Recovery
Immediately after the procedure, there is usually no obvious evidence that surgery has been performed, other than the brows are higher, the forehead is smoother, and the crow’s feet are reduced. You look happier and more alert, but there is virtually no swelling or bruising of the forehead. There may be mild swelling in the upper eyelids but usually there is very little or no bruising. Occasionally, a mild headache may develop for a few hours after surgery.
Most patients have very little discomfort after a brow lift. Patients are up and about the day of surgery and usually can return to work in three to four days. If the procedure is performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery, face lift or laser resurfacing, additional recuperation may be necessary.
